Dogs We Have Loved

On Sunday, we lost our beloved dog, Oscar. I sent a note in my newsletter to subscribers and have received the most beautiful messages and photos of beloved dogs that will help Jim and I get over the loss. Here are pictures of Oscar and the dogs we miss so much.

  1. Suzanne,
I can tell you that our pets leave their paw prints on our hearts. It broke my heart when we had to give Domino away to my husband’s co-worker. Domino did not like our oldest grandson. The Sheriff’s department were going to put her down if we insisted on keeping her.Domino was a dachshund -black lab mix. She looked like a black lab on short legs. She was a good judge of people that proved to be helpful.
Now we have 2 miniature long hair dachshunds, a black and tan male named Gunner’s Coal and a piebald female named Sugarfoot.

    • Julia please send me pictures of your dogs! Dominio sounds like a dream dog. I’m so sorry you couldn’t keep him but it’s great you found someone you know to give him a home. xooxxo

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. I shelter elderly rescue cats and I have lost 3 this year. I have had cats and dogs all my life. It is just so sad when they go. Someone once told me that people that have pets are very courageous because they know they will most likely outlive them, but that is just never a thought. You just love them so much and enjoy them. You and your Oscar are in my prayers. I do understand your heart is breaking.

  3. Hi Suzanne,

This is such a wonderful page you have created! Thank you for doing this. Cody was more than a pet to my husband and I, he was our first kid. It’s only been two weeks since he left us and I know he’ll be missed for a long time to come. Fortunately, our kids are doing better with the loss than the hubby and I. The hardest part is that we need to find another dog (to help keep coyotes off the ranch) but it’s so difficult to even think such a thing! Again, thanks for creating such a lovely page. My heart goes out to you and your husband for your loss.
